Recently I have gotten a bunch of emails about missing packages, missing categories, etc. Well I've finally tracked down all of these issues.
- The nightly cron was having trouble. This was later tracked down to php not being in the PATH. :(
- Some may have noticed the newest page taking forever to load. well this was due to some bots hitting the newest page (and a few others) hard. the page used to take 2-3 seconds to load; now it was taking 60+. This was fixed by adding a few indexes to the database and dropping the load time to under .25 sec.
- Missing Subversion Repo: well I've been meaning to fix this forever, it should be back up soon (Updates to come).
After today I hope to have everything all fixed up. And now that I finally have some free time again I'll actually be updating the site again. Suggestions are welcome.
I'll keep everyone up to date on Twitter. Send me any suggestions on twitter and I'll see if I can get one or 2 done today.

well we lost our servers, had to restore the code from backup. which means no more user info, no more pictures etc. read more...
I would like to request that everyone start uploading images like a crazy person and commenting on every package they see. I'd love to get this site back to the state it was in. The Subversion repo of the code and the source viewer are down for the time being, if you see anything else not working as expected give me a shout and I will fix it ASAP. mikevalstar@gmail.com
I wont be able to do too much to improve Gentoo-Portage.com for a while while i work on the much harder task of restoring the wiki. I'l have news here and on gentoo-wiki.com daily.
