USE Flags

cupsddk
Global: Add support for net-print/cupsddk which enables dynamic PPD files (recommended)
Local: Add support for net-print/cupsddk which enables dynamic PPD files (recommended)
dbus
Global: Enable dbus support for anything that needs it (gpsd, gnomemeeting, etc)
Local: Add support for sys-apps/dbus which enables better communications with your device (recommended)
doc
Global: Adds extra documentation (API, Javadoc, etc)
Local: Build documentation
fax
Global: Enables fax support in the courier mail server
Local: Enable fax on multifunction devices which support it
gtk
Global: Adds support for x11-libs/gtk+ (The GIMP Toolkit)
Local: Enable GTK+ dependencies, currently only the scanner GUI with USE=scanner.
minimal
Global: Install a very minimal build (disables, for example, plugins, fonts, most drivers, non-critical features)
Local: Only build internal hpijs driver (not recommended at all, make sure you know what you are doing)
parport
Global: Enable support for parport JTAG devices
Local: Enable parallel port for devices which require it
ppds
Global: Adds support for automatically generated ppd (printing driver) files
Local: Use precompiled PPD files (obsolete, use cupsddk instead)
qt3
Global: Adds support for the Qt GUI/Application Toolkit version 3.x
